Description
Woman’s hoop crinoline frame or cage-crinoline with adjustable wool waistband fastening with hook and eye, nine full-length wool tapes radiating out with regularly placed metal eyelets, with two half-length wool tapes attached half-way down the centre back tape. Tapes supporting thirty red wool braid covered concentric metal hoops fastened at the eyelets, with nine partial hoops at the top open at the front to flatten the silhouette and twenty-one full hoops below to create an oval footprint. Red wool panel backed on cream attached at centre back waistband. Stamped on waistband in black ink ‘Thomson’s Prize Medal Skirt’.
